Express (4 and 4.5) Configuration for Macintosh
These are basic instructions for configuring Outlook Express
to access your ValleySurf e-mail account. The appearance of
the pictures may vary slightly with different computers, but
the general information provided in this tutorial will enable
you to configure Outlook Express to access your ValleySurf
e-mail account.
1.
Open Outlook Express. If you are opening Outlook Express for
the first time, you will be prompted to enter information
for a new account. In this location you will enter your ValleySurf
username as demonstrated in the example below. Click the OK
button to continue.

Pull down the Edit menu from the top of the Outlook Express
window and select Preferences.

In the Preferences window, enter your ValleySurf account information
as demonstrated in the example below.
3a.
Under Full Name enter your name.
3b. Under E-mail Address enter your ValleySurf e-mail address.
Leave Organization blank.
3c. Under SMTP Server enter mail.valleysurf.com.
3d. Under Account ID enter your ValleySurf username.
3e. Under POP Server enter mail.valleysurf.com.
3f. Check the box next to Save Password and enter your ValleySurf
password in the space provided.
3g. Under Account Name enter your ValleySurf username.
Click
OK. Congratulations, Outlook Express is now configured to
access your ValleySurf e-mail account!

These
are basic instructions for configuring Outlook Express to
access your ValleySurf e-mail account. The appearance of the
pictures may vary slightly with different computers, but the
general information provided in this tutorial will enable
you to configure Outlook Express to access your ValleySurf
e-mail account.
1.
Open Outlook Express. If you are opening Outlook Express for
the first time, the Outlook Express Setup Assistant automatically
starts. If the Setup Assistant does not start, go to step
1b. below. If Setup Assistant does start, go to
1a. and skip steps 1b and 2.
1a.
Select "I already have an e-mail accountŠ" and check the box
next to "I want to use Outlook Express as my main (default)
e-mail program". Click the Right Arrow to continue. Move on
to step 3.

1b. If the Outlook Express Setup Assistant does not automatically
open, open the Tools menu, select Accounts and then click
the New button. Move on to Step 2.

In the Your Name window, enter your full name in the box next
to Display
name. Click the Right Arrow to continue.

In the Internet E-mail Address window, check "I already have
an e-mail address that I¹d like to use" and enter your ValleySurf
e-mail address as demonstrated below. Click the Right Arrow
to continue.

4.
In the following E-mail Server Names window, your incoming
mail server is a POP server. Under "Incoming mail (POP, IMAP)
server" enter mail.valleysurf.com. Under "Outgoing mail (SMTP)
server" enter mail.valleysurf.com. Click the Right Arrow to
continue.

5.
In the following Internet Mail Logon window, enter your ValleySurf
username under Account ID. Enter your ValleySurf password
under Password. Check the Save Password box. Click Right Arrow
to continue.

6.
At the following Congratulations window, enter ValleySurf
Account next to Account Name. (Note: this name is simply used
for reference on your computer). Click the Finish button.
Congratulations! Outlook Express is now configured to access
your ValleySurf account!
